BANGKOK, Oct 18 (TNA) – The Department of Pollution Control has reported unhealthy levels of PM 2.5 in several parts of Bangkok and its surrounding areas.

The levels of ultra-fine dust have exceeded the standard due to the approaching winter season, which brings high pressure systems and stagnant air. It is expected that these conditions will persist at an orange alert level for another 1-2 days. (TNA)

Oh yeah...?

But 'Bob' wants to know...who's drunk...!?

Visiting Bangkok can be a health hazard for western tourists more used to good air quality back home. Smokers at higher risk. Better to choose another place for the holiday. Up to you if you don't care.

No, the air pollution is not ‘due to’ the approaching winter season… it’s due to extremely s#itty controls & ineffective enforcement….
.. the onset of cooler weather just makes it more noticeable because the pollution is not so readily dispersed.

Citizens have been advised not to breathe for the next 36 to 48 hours.

No doubt the authorities will be ‘closely monitoring the situation’, or maybe even setting up a committee or two. But actually doing something about it seems to be too much to ask. Probably too busy thinking of new ways to get even more kickbacks.
Anyone wants to hazard a guess what will happen when the burning season starts? My money is on nothing, zip, zilch, nada, not a damn thing.

Due to winter season.

Oh, bad air is having an early start this year. Seems to be a trend, it just keeps worsening.

I had the privilege of working (for a spell) for a Pakistani 'scholar' who use to refer to the locals as 'monkey brains', and it always use to crack me up.

(perhaps pot and kettle)

What do I know...!?
