Motorists are advised to avoid Sukhumvit Soi 18 and Soi 20 this afternoon (Tuesday), from 4pm to 9pm, due to an event to express solidarity with the people of Israel.

Thonglor police, who which issued the advice, did not give any details about who is organising the event or how many people are expected to participate.

The police, however, recommended alternative routes for motorists:

Use Sukhumvit Soi 16 into Sukhumvit Soi 22 and Rama 4 Road
Use Sukhumvit Soi 22, 24 and 26, which will connect with Rama 4 Road, and enter Sukhumvit Soi 22, which connects with Sukhumvit 20 and 18
Use Rama 4 Road heading to Sukhumvit Soi 16, 22 or 24 to exit onto Sukhumvit Road.

Previously, Muslims and Palestinians living in Thailand protested in front of the Israeli embassy in Bangkok, to demand an end to attacks on Palestinians in Gaza.
