Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, and Microsoft are set to invest in Thailand, marking a significant achievement for the nation’s economy. The total investment from these tech giants is expected to reach around 300 billion baht (US$ 8,447,613,000).

The announcement was made by government spokesperson, Chai Wacharonke, following Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin’s successful talks with executives from the three tech powerhouses during his US visit.

These investment schemes are expected to bring substantial economic benefits to Thailand. They will not only enhance the nation’s digital infrastructure but also foster the development of a highly skilled workforce.

AWS’s planned investment in cloud computing infrastructure will ramp up Thailand’s competitiveness and boost the expertise of its workforce in this burgeoning sector. Microsoft, on the other hand, has formalised its commitment to invest in the country by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government.

Waiting on press releases from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, and Microsoft to confirm these claims.

I doubt it.  Most Thais would sooner guard buffalos or watch rice grow than learn something new.

Weren't these deals already in the pipe from the previous bunch?

Plus, not always a lot of jobs generated when it comes to data centres.

nice pr spin though, they need a 'win'
