Scientists urge people to not panic as thousands of children complain of pneumonia-like symptoms in China

China’s hospitals have been flooded with cases of respiratory illnesses and sick children complaining of pneumonia-like symptoms, leading to increased scrutiny from the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Beijing children’s hospital earlier told state media CCTV that at least 7,000 patients were being admitted daily to the institution, far exceeding its capacity.

Last week, the largest paediatric hospital in nearby Tianjin reportedly received more than 13,000 children at its outpatient and emergency departments.

Liaoning province, about 690km northeast of the capital, is also grappling with high case numbers.

The Chinese health ministry has asked local authorities to increase the number of fever clinics.

Most of the world hopes you are wrong.  Experts are now agreeing that the spread of Covid19 could have been contained had the Chinese been more forthcoming.  It is almost like they intentionally let the virus loose on the world.  Their disregard for human life is endless.

You mean they lied and said “You know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat — as the heat comes in. Typically, that will go away in April.”,

It will disappear, it’s disappearing”.

“It’s just a case of the sniffles”. And they they refused the wear a mask in public and encouraged the public to ignore the advice of medical experts?

Yes I agree. The person who said these things is directly responsible for the deaths of over 400,000 of the million American who died and the reason why eight times more people per capita died in the US than in Thailand from Covid. Sad, really sad…

13,000 infant patients in one week.......More than one per minute would swamp the staff.

Given the WHO's track record I think it is safe to assume that nothing will come of it or be reported post haste without Chinas approval. The WHO already showed the world that China controls what is said and done and the WHO will just spread lies to cover their tracks.

A few minutes ago I read this from an article in The Conversation.

But as C Raina MacIntyre and her colleagues from UNSW Sydney explain, this isn’t cause for alarm. Rather than a single unknown pathogen, the outbreak appears to be due to a number of known respiratory pathogens, including the bacteria mycoplasma, RSV, influenza and adenovirus.

Although there is no indication that the current situation in China is a new pandemic, we should always pay attention to, and work to identify, undiagnosed pneumonia clusters. According to MacIntyre and her team, early warning systems give us the best chance of preventing the next pandemic.

So many option with 'here we go again'.....I chose this:

I for one would sure like to know how the kids are doing ie recovering ❤️‍🩹 hoping the tykes are doing well

Undiagnosed Pneumoniae like symptoms..more than likely an RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus), which is rampant at present in Northern Thailand. MyOpinion.

I read somewhere that the latest covid strain is much more prevalent in children than the earlier strains were...

Are we to be bombarded with this hyped up, sensation seeking, journalistic trash every time somebody sneezes. These attempts by the media to exaggerate all the common and regular viral infections  is truly pathetic and quite annoying.  There should be a law against this

sigh ...

Actually, this was to be expected. Children were isolated during the pandemic so exposure to these viruses was delayed. The pathogens are just making up for lost time. so to speak.

If they didn't have a respiratory illness before, they have it for sure after being in that room for a few hours.

It's only a matter of  time before the CCP finds a way to export this too.
