Non Immigrant B To Tourist

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've been in Thailand for a year on a non-immigrant B which expires on the 31st July. I need to stay in Thailand till the 16th August when my flight home is. If I do a visa run before the 31st can I come back in on a 30 day tourist visa? Or is there an easier way to meet the 16 day shortfall?

I was thinking of doing a visa run in Mae Sot - do I need a visa for Myanmar in advance?

Thanks.

Yes you can do a border crossing to obtain a 30 day entry without visa to give you the required time. There is no extension way you could do for more than 7 days so it seems to be your best option. You do not need a visa - you just pay a small amount for temporary entry/stamp.

I am assuming that your non immigrant B visa has already expired and you have until July 31st on your permitted to stay until stamp? If not and you are on 90 day visa entry you could obtain another 90 day stay by crossing before the expiration date.
