BANGKOK (NNT) - The Thai Prime Minister has participated in a Q&A seminar at the Daily News Talk 2023. He addressed various issues, primarily focusing on the achievements over the past three months since assuming office.

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Srettha Thavisin responded to public queries, particularly regarding education.

He discussed Thailand’s low scores in mathematics and science on the PISA test, marking the lowest in 20 years. Additionally, Thailand ranked 101st out of 113 countries in English proficiency.

He acknowledged these as long-standing problems, despite the Ministry of Education receiving the highest budget allocation. The premier emphasized the need for curriculum development and skills that align with market demands and address educational disparities.

The Prime Minister also addressed other issues such as informal debts, while also confirming the launch of the project to provide a 10,000-baht stipend through the digital wallet system in May next year.

Regarding drug problems, he announced a major drug seizure scheduled for December 16th and a Key Performance Indicator to eliminate drug issues within four years. The government also aims to enforce laws strictly against firearms and influential figures.

The prime minister could demonstrate he is not Taksins puppet and increase his public standing and improve the economy by two measures. One.. Return Thaksin to jail  Two... stop the 560 million baht bribe to voters the counrtry can ill afford.

560 BILLION

maybe 500 BILLION if wealthier folks are not eligible.

But Srettha is not going to drop this scheme, at least until he realizes it will fail.

His initial tenure has been less than spectacular. The linked story highlights maybe one accomplishment: drug seizures.

Wonder if "selected questions allowed only"?  Or anything - would love to see the full episode, English translation
