jippytum
Is it possible to renew a Thai driving license in another Provence and retain home address . I have yellow book and id card from home Provence and would like to renew license during extended stay in Chaing Mai if possible without changing address at immigration . I could provide residency from home Provence if required. Anyone done this ?
Etaoin Shrdlu
One of my children had an expired first-time 2 year license and wanted to renew it before returning to university in the US. Couldn't get an appointment at the local DLT office in Bangkok in time, so went to another province nearby and managed to get it done. It would therefore seem that the system is capable of doing so, however each individual DLT office may have a different policy. Good luck.
foreverlomsak
The reply is Yes, No, Sometimes and Maybe (I think that covers the options), depends on the office and the person on the day.
Bob12345
Renewed in Phangnga while living in Phuket last year. Saved months of waiting for an open spot and it was only an hour drive. 1
thaiowl
I renewed my 5-year licence in Cha-am whilst being resident in Nonthaburi. No problem. 1
merijn
Yes, shouldn't be a problem. Did it myself a few months ago.
Chalong circle
As usual, no national rule. Should be ok, but depend of the person behind the counter... From experience in Phuket. For thai nationals, no problem... Edited December 28, 2023 by Chalong circle
