Pull your Socks up !!

Recommended Posts

Who wears these socks you can't see ?

Dreaded ankle socks !!!

Lately I have had a fascination with socks , 2 days rostered off from work I have spent it looking at people socks in the street and looking at pics of socks

I even visited the Sock Shop

All colours 🌈

Please post pics of your favourite socks ,ok let's go into times change around SOCKS !

Now years ago at school and at work if you wore shorts you had to wear LONG SOCKS !

I walk past a group of bus drivers recently, shorts on with ShORT Ankle  socks showing hairy legs!

Doesn't do anything for professional image

25 years ago they would of had to wear long socks

Pull your socks up !

Socks with sandals ,I saw this in Pattaya, black socks with sandals 🩴

The very short cotton socks which one wears with trainers are to make it more comfortable, so not putting your 'sweaty' foot next to a synthetic insole. They are not meant to be seen, hence the shortness.

But I agree, socks with sandals, flip-flops, long or short, are a no-no.

The second photo with the red/green/black jobbies are OK. A fashion statement, or a Christmas/birthday present from a wife or GF.

I find dressing in this manner is a rather sad attempt at trying to convey to people that you have a personality.......

James Cleverly is a good example with his bright red socks and dark suit.

A long time ago in a cold country far away I saw a movie. In it a guy was wearing moccasins without socks in cold weather. A girl in the movie fancied him and thought that looks very sexy. At that time, I thought, ok, let's try that. And I never wore socks again.

In the hindsight I can't confirm that all girls were exited about this. ;)

Still better than those tossers who walk around wearing nice shoes, but no socks.

Anyone can post a pic

IMO it is a good idea to wear socks in Thailand, due to the risk of opportunistic infections.

Some years ago, I was just wearing sandals here. My right foot became infected with cellulitis, and it took a 10,000 baht course of intravenous antibiotic to fix it.

Your the one using the word "tosser" which in Australia means rubbish thrower,

A tosser is a litter bug ,there are signs up in the street "Don't be a Tosser !

I'm not using the Queen's English as I have no respect for the Queen or monarchy

, so please use the word in its proper sentence and meaning

How do litterer"s wear nice shoes and no socks ?

Don't be a Tosser , and ....have a shower

Sorry GG but I am English and use the word as we do in England.

The Bee Gees were on a TV interview show on UK TV a long time ago and said that the were originally called 'The Tossers'. The interviewer burst into laughter, and The BGs left the studio. Haha

II am referring to the English meaning of Tosser, or even better Tosspot. Rhymes with Barclays Bank or J Arthur.

OK, I shall explain for you who do not understand. Barclays Bank rhymes with  a word beginning with W, and J Arthur's surname was Rank.

Great. Nothing to do with the look of wearing socks with sandals, or shoes without socks

I know it is difficult for them.

But no, as explained, but obviously not understood, I was using  the word Tosser in it's KING's English context, as in Charles saying to Andrew, 'Don't be a lying Tosser'

Omg you showing your young

age son.

Bee Gees were a fantastic 1970' s band from the UK

I'm not surprised by your question though because todays young people don't know even who  even the Beatles were  believe it or not

I was watching a game show last week "who wants to be a millionaire" , as young girl about 19 was a contestant she had never heard of the Beatles !😳😳
