Most Blatant Misuse Of Funds In Pattaya

Featured Replies

There's lots, but in my opinion, it's the stupid, ridiculous green poles that they put right IN THE MIDDLE of the sidewalks of all major streets in Pattaya. You can't even walk on the ###### sidewalks without having to practically step out onto the street every few meters. Do you guys know what I'm talking about? Circular concrete base with a steel green pole and at the top it kind of opens out to what looks like half an umbrella frame. They're EVERYWHERE! I'll give you two guesses what they're for. You wouldn't believe it. They are there to provide shade. Yes, shade. They're supposed to have vines growing up out of the base and climb the steel pole and cover the steel frame. I have yet to see vines grow and provide shade on ANY of them. They're all barren, just like the heads of the officials who approved the project. They're nothing but a nuisance to have to step around. Who's gonna' stop and stand around under one of those things anyway???? Some guy's brother's mother's cousin's sister probably got the contract for the 50 million Baht (I'm guessing) it cost to put them everywhere. Isn't there anybody who has to answer to that????? The "Shade Project" is probably the stupidest and most blatant scheme so far. My vote for runner up are the flashing lights/reflectors/cat eyes that they have on the streets now. That would be a great distraction and 'eye catcher' for the numerous drunks driving the streets each night.

The local police force :o

Won't hear a word said against them.

They will do anything for you.......for a bht or two!!!

Pattaya has the best police force that money can buy :D

How about paying Anna Kournikova a reputed cool million bucks to be Pattaya's "ambassador" to the world?

Check out the wooden roadsigns that have sprung up along the main highway, and many other major roads.

They tell you how far it is to certain cities ------ ALL in THAI.

Cheap and nasty.

Complete duplication of the much larger and official Green signs that give the information in Thai and English.

Almost certainly a lucrative "special" contract for someone's relative!!!

my ex wife - does anyone know her brown skin black hair - answers to the name of Noi :o:D

Lot's of Noi's around.

Any special distinguishing features?

They all seem to like money!!

I think she's now my friends current future ex-wife. He's the one with the bumper sticker that says "Honk if I bought you a house"

Pattaya Traffic flow planners -wages for what?

Construction companies- repair of roads, need doing again in months.

new traffic lights- now broken or not working.

Drainage ditches anywhere -especially Siam GC club road.

Plus many more, but why complain somebody somewhere is making money.

Why don't they remove some of the old signs? Like that BOI Steel Fair of '95 sign on the walk bridge near Laem Chabang?

Costs money to remove, redecorate.

Someone's brother-in-law will get the contract soon enough.
