Dear all.

Does anyone know how the 'study visa' thing work?

I am planning to study for a PhD. in Thailand. Given that most of my research will be done in Thailand, how do I arrange my visa?

I am thinking of researching a Thai related issue, so by definition most of my research will be done in Thailand.

a. Will my British university organize a study visa for me?

b. How long is the study visa for? Is it renewable? My research will last at least 3-4 years.

c. What is the criteria for a study visa? Does one need to be affiliated to a Thai institution? What do I need to provide the authorities?
