We've had a new electric meter installed. Previously, we had a spinning disc meter with our ongrid solar system.

Would like to know if it's ok to run our currently turned off ongrid inverter. Obviously we don't want to be double charged for electric or blow the meter up.

You won't fry the meter 🙂

Best to check if your meter counts UP when exporting (some have reported this), ideally if your inverter supports a no-export function you should turn it on.

Good recommendation Crossy.

A friend went solar - no batteries.

The developer installed a digital meter.

His electricity bill was higher when he was away so he installed batteries and went 100% off grid.

He still received electricity bills.

The new meter was charging him for the electricity that he was giving to them.
