Koh Samet: Chinese Tourist Plunges to His Death from Resort Balcony

On February 15th,  Lieutenant Colonel Nonthanat Chomchuen, Deputy Superintendent of Phe Police Station, Rayong Province, received a report of a tourist falling from a height and dying at a resort on Koh Samet, Moo 4, Tambon Phe, Amphoe Mueang, Rayong Province. 

 

Authorities rushed to the scene with investigative teams, Rayong Hospital physicians, and representatives from the Suan Phra Kukson Foundation, reported Siam Rath

 

They found an injured foreigner, identified as Mr. Lao, 39 years old, a Chinese national, lying unconscious on the ground floor after falling from a second-floor balcony, sustaining severe head injuries.

Despite efforts to resuscitate, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

 

Initial inquiries revealed that resort staff heard a loud thud and upon investigation found the unconscious man. They immediately notified authorities for assistance.

 

Police conducted a thorough investigation at the scene and transferred the body to Rayong Hospital.

Maybe coz they are not as tall as 'falangs'.

Years of visiting and now living here most of the year I can honestly say I’ve never come close to “falling” off a balcony.


 Despite enjoying a Bacardi coke or three while enjoying the view.
