February 23, 20242 yr I am a swedish citizen and have one-year retirement visa and the date to renew this year is July 27 (Jomtien) my passport is valid until June 25th 2025. Is it possible to get a visa until my passport expires...June 25th?
February 23, 20242 yr Popular Post Yes. You will get an extension of stay until the expiry of your current passport. Although why not get a new passport now, that would seem a better idea.
February 23, 20242 yr Your extension of stay, will be granted until the expiry date of your passport, providing you meet all the other requirements to extend. This will then become your new renewal date. You do not get the extra month added when you get a new passport. Latest previous thread asking the same.
February 24, 20242 yr If passport expires, Visa / Extension of Stay expires the same date. I ended up with a US Emergency 1 year Passport and lost 5 days as to the new Extension expire date.

There's two slots left in the end of March, else it's going to be in April. You be lucky to get your new passport in June

You be lucky to get your new passport in June I don't think it is that simple, you'll have to have a very good reason for replacing a 5 year passport that today has more than a year remaining of validity. Only 6 month left - ok, no pages left - ok, need in order to get a full year extension - no I don't think so.. Edited February 25, 20242 yr by lom
