In a recent national survey conducted by Mainstreet Research for Florida Atlantic University, former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden are tied, with each earning 44 percent support from voters. The survey, conducted from March 15 to 17 among 1,053 adults, has a margin of error of 3 percent.

The results of the survey indicate a close race between the two candidates, setting up a rematch of the 2020 presidential election. Both Trump and Biden have secured enough delegates to secure their respective party's nominations, officially kicking off the general election season.

Among female voters, Biden holds a lead, with 49.7 percent expressing support for the current president. In contrast, 38.3 percent of female voters stated they would support Trump. Conversely, Trump appears to be more popular among male voters, with just over half of male respondents indicating they would vote for the former president. Biden garnered support from 38.7 percent of male voters.

Furthermore, the survey highlights generational differences in candidate preference. Biden was found to be more popular among voters over the age of 65, while Trump received greater support from younger voters aged 18 to 34.

These findings are consistent with other national polls, such as The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, which also indicate a tight race between Trump and Biden. According to this polling data, Trump narrowly leads with 44.9 percent support, while Biden trails slightly behind with 44 percent support.

As the general election approaches, both candidates are likely to intensify their campaign efforts to appeal to undecided voters and shore up support among their respective bases. The outcome of the election remains uncertain, and the close competition between Trump and Biden suggests that every vote will count in determining the next president of the United States.
