Popular Post snoop1130
The general debate against the government began today with leader of the opposition Chaithawat Tulathon opening with a barrage of accusations against the administration, from its failure to keep its election promises, under-performance and lack of sincerity to undermining the justice system through double-standards and ignoring its policy statement presented to parliament over six months ago. Citing a tangible example, Chaithawat said that the much-hyped “digital wallet” scheme, which the government claimed would stimulate the Thai economy, is yet to become a reality and may hurt the economy in the long run by increasing public borrowing. He said the people had expected to see the justice system reformed, but what they got was unprecedented internal conflict involving top-level police officers and widespread corruption in government bureaucracy. Popular Post Tropicalevo
Sadly, nothing will change and Thailand will never reach its full potential. Unfair laws created by the rich elite written to ensure that the same rich elite are never at risk and can stay in power. Even if a forward thinking person talks about changing them - they end up in gaol without bail. 1

MrPancake
The entire world seems to have switched to reverse mode these days. The US, Thailand, Europe... A new kind of fascism is on the rise.
Popular Post bamnutsak
A barrage? The government (PTP) made a bunch of promises, maybe eight-ish. Now the opposition is pointing out that little progress has been made on any of these. I'd hardly call this a "barrage". The PMs excuses were idiotic. Including a riff on the classic: "The dog ate my homework." He actually said the pollution problem wasn't as bad as last year, as if that's an accomplishment. Quel doofus. 1

Sadly this country is bent from the very top. It is wat it is. This is why Thailand will always linger on the 3rd World boundary. The military and the elite hold the country in their corrupt hands and will keep their money and power by all means at their disposal. There is only one way to change this but will it happen. 3 2

Purdey
I hope they don't keep their 10,000 baht per person promise. The economy is bad enough as it is.
