In a new lawsuit filed in California, controversial rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye, is accused of racism and antisemitism by a former employee. The lawsuit alleges that West repeatedly yelled at Black employees and made troubling remarks praising Adolf Hitler.

The former employee, Trevor Phillips, who is also Black, worked for two of West's ventures for nearly a year. Phillips claims that he suffered severe discrimination, harassment, and retaliation from West during his employment.

According to the lawsuit, West would allegedly yell at Black people frenziedly but never berate a white person. Phillips also alleges that West made antisemitic remarks, including claiming that Jewish people were persecuting him and stealing his money.

The suit further claims that West praised Hitler as a "great" innovator during a dinner at an upscale restaurant in Los Angeles, falsely attributing the invention of cars to the Nazi leader.

Additionally, Phillips alleges that West once instructed two children at the Donda Academy, a school West founded, to shave their heads and threatened to lock them in cages. West also purportedly mandated that no staff could be overweight, threatening to fire them otherwise.

Phillips, who stopped working for West's ventures in August 2023, is seeking $35,000 in compensation through the lawsuit.

West has previously faced backlash for antisemitic remarks, leading clothing giants GAP and Adidas to sever ties with him. He has also apologized to Jewish people on social media for previous antisemitic outbursts.

The lawsuit, brought forth by Phillips' lawyer Carney R. Shegerian, aims to address the alleged discrimination and send a broader message against hate speech and discrimination.

West, who has been open about his struggles with mental health, split from Kim Kardashian in 2022 after a decade-long relationship. Kardashian has advocated for understanding as West deals with his personal issues.
