SAMUT PRAKAN, April 10 (TNA) – Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin inspected Suvarnabhumi Airport without prior notice last night to assess the public and tourist service systems ahead of the Songkran Festival.

This visit marks the third time the Prime Minister has inspected in this manner, with previous visits occurring in February.

Upon arrival, the Prime Minister inspected the check-in system and found that the management system was operating well, with passengers not experiencing long waits. This improvement is attributed to the airport allowing earlier check-in from 3 hours to 4 hours before the departure time.

Subsequently, Kittipong Kittikachorn, the Director of Suvarnabhumi Airport, and Pol.Maj.Gen. Choengron Rimpadee, commander of immigration officers at the international airport welcomed the Prime Minister and led him to conduct inspections at various points.

The Prime Minister then inspected the Immigration Bureau's system, which previously experienced several crashes.Pol. Maj. Gen. Chongran confirmed that the system would no longer crash as it had been improved and connected to the airport's system, enhancing efficiency.

That says a lot and we Expats know what that means.  After 3 visits by the PM himself, a basic thing has been implented correctly (so far). Will this apply to any/all other systems introduced in Thailand - NO - because the PM did not sack the management responsibile for the screw up. Only then will people in management in this country realise they are accountable for things screwing up - and only then will they try harder (at all) to make sure they dont screw up. The PM has no choice because that is the culture - but until things change in that regards evcerything will remain the same.  Has the management of the yellow line been acked for all the problems - NO.

I came in around 6pm Monday. everything was smooth except for pushing and shoving from Thailand's favourite tourists at luggage belt.

I wonder if he would mind checking out the travalator maintenance schedule, prior to another passenger having their leg amputated.

I actually have a few pics of the tunnels under the concourse.

I was in the airport the first week it opened. Back then there was no designated smoking areas made yet. Being a smoker and at the gate I decided to find a place to smoke where nobody would be bothered. I saw a staircase leading down and started going down the stairs where I came to a platform with a closed door.

Looking on the ground I saw several extinguished cigarettes so I figured I found a good place to have a smoke. While smoking I decided to check the door expecting it to be locked. To my surprise it wasn't locked so I went inside which was nothing but a massive service tunnel under the concourse.

I bet with today's security that door isn't accessible.

They just happened to be there at night ????

Flew into new terminal first time last night unawares, and I have to say the whole shuttle train etc functioned very well, no different in time to walking from some of the further reaches of the original terminal building

god forbid it looks like they’ve just copied Singapore Changi instead of trying to put their own spin of Thainess on it 😊

Well done PM you can now confirm to the nation the airport is there 🤔
