About 300 tonnes of cadmium slag were found in a warehouse in Bangkok’s Bang Sue district on Wednesday, by officers from the Natural Resources and Environment Crime Division.

The officers searched the warehouse of the Lor Loha Thai Metal company, located in Soi Riang Preecha off Pracharat Road, and found the cadmium slag stored in 190 large bags.

A woman, only identified as “Wanna”, claimed that she and her husband “Jessada” own the company. Jessada is a partner in the J&B Metal company in Bang Nam Jerd sub-district of Samut Sakhon, where cadmium slag, originally from Tak province, was found.

The Bang Sue district in Bangkok has declared the area where the latest 300 tonnes of toxic cadmium slag were found a HAZMAT (hazardous materials) zone.

The slag was discovered stored in 190 bags in the warehouse of Lor Loha Thai Metal Company, located in Soi Riang Preecha off Pracharat Road.

Entry to the area is now prohibited and all activities are banned. A hazmat team has been dispatched to work with officials from the Departments of Industrial Works and Health.

Maybe Thailand should check out these guys, they're supposed to be the experts:

That location is somewhat misleading. This is actually a couple of 100m north from Rama 7 bridge on Bangkok side, next to King Mongkut University of Technology North Bangkok.

Thailand safety last

Best to stay away from this slag

Suggest folks interested in this to read the 10 APRIL 2024 Thai Examiner.

First it was 7,000 tons. Now 300? Soon it will be downgraded to 4 kilos. Disinformation is a hobby for these creeps.

Seems the boom of Chinese companies in Thailand is proving to be not the great idea it was first thought to be. Now that e-waste recycling had been seen as a danger in China they come here to poison the Thais.
