Myanmar national attacks Belgian partner with hammer in Hat Yai

A 32 year old Myanmar national was apprehended in Hat Yai, Songkhla after a violent episode in which he attacked his Belgian partner using a hammer. The incident, incited by jealousy, according to the apprehended, took place in their shared apartment, leaving the 56 year old Belgian man with severe head injuries and the apartment splattered with blood.

DIT Inspects Pricing and Services at Transport Stations During Songkran Festival

BANGKOK (NNT) - Deputy Director General of the Department of Internal Trade (DIT) Udom Srisomsong revealed after inspecting vendors at Krungthep Apiwat central station and Mo Chit 2 coach station that during the Songkran festival, when a significant number of individuals travel back home or visit other provinces, they primarily rely on public buses or trains. In addition to consuming meals and beverages, they also purchase goods for personal consumption or as gifts for their loved ones. Consequently, the Department of Internal Trade has deployed officials to conduct thorough inspections and closely monitor the pricing of goods, aligning with the directives of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Phumtham Wechayachai.

Neighbours of cadmium store in Samut Sakhon have high cadmium levels

Sixteen people living in the vicinity of the J&B Metal warehouse in Samut Sakhon’s Bang Nam Jerd sub-district have been found to have high levels of cadmium in their bodies and have been treated at the provincial hospital, according to the Provincial Public Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office.

25 killed, 248 injured in road accidents on first day of Songkran travel

Twenty-five people were killed and 248 others injured in 234 road accidents across the country on Thursday, Chaiwat Chuntirapong, director-general of the Department of Public Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, told a press conference today.
