madjbs
Does anybody know how long it takes to get a letter of residency from the Oz embassy in BKK? Thanks Jake
moneyshot
It took me all of 15 mins in and out... You only need to fill out a stat dec, which they witness and stamp it for you.

moneyshot
Yes same day, straight away. You just need to take your passport, nothing else. It cost about 500 baht.

Isn't life with the Thai bureaucracy such a joy Chiang Mai used to issue them quickly and efficiently for I think 280 baht but my last experience of getting one from the Nong Khai gestapo was a mind blowing ordeal. Now I have my own yellow Tabian Baan residency book I luckily dont have to worry.
