Certificate Of Residency

Featured Replies

Does anybody know how long it takes to get a letter of residency from the Oz embassy in BKK?

Thanks

Jake

It took me all of 15 mins in and out... You only need to fill out a stat dec, which they witness and stamp it for you.

Sounds good, and you get the document on the same day?

Jake

Yes same day, straight away.

You just need to take your passport, nothing else. It cost about 500 baht.

Thailand Immigration offices also do residency certificates dont they.?

Some do some don't, some are free some are not.

Mine at Nan Immigration were free.

I will see if the ones at Kap Cheong will be also free or if they even will issue me one !

Isn't life with the Thai bureaucracy such a joy

Chiang Mai used to issue them quickly and efficiently for I think 280 baht but my last experience of getting one from the Nong Khai gestapo was a mind blowing ordeal.

Now I have my own yellow Tabian Baan residency book I luckily dont have to worry.
