hi first off thanks for those who can help

my girlfriend is now in england with me but when she had interview in bkk they said she could only come for three months even though they stamped her a six month visa, so does that mean she has to go back when they said or when the six months is up? want to keep good record with the immigration for future visa's for us.

just one more question can student and work visa's be applied for at thai embassy in london? dont want her to go back to thailand again and not be with her for months again.

many many thanks

Daniel,

If your girlfriend were to stay for the full six months, she wouldn't be breaking any laws. However, if she were then to apply for another visit visa at a later date, the visa officer is likely to question why she stated she'd stay for three months and then remained for six, so in the interests of successful future applications I'd stick to what she originally said.

If you want to accompany your g/f to Thailand, you can apply for Thai visas at either the Thai embassy in London or any of the consulates dotted around the U.K. A visit visa will get you 90 days in Thailand, and you can then either leave and get another visa or do a border run and return with a 30-day stamp. If you want more detailed information about Thai visas, perhaps post a thread in the Thai visas and residency forum.

When my wife first came to England on a visitors visa, she had six months, but was told to only stay two. We did this and now we have reapplied and we did not have any problems this time with her staying the full 6 months. :o

Do you mean you want her to apply for a student and work visa to stay in UK? If so

The Thai embassy deals with, amongst other things, entry to Thailand not UK.

If she wants to apply for a student visa that must be done at the UK VAC in Bangkok together with all the supporting evidence such as the course booked and at least part paid for (at international student rates). A work permit visa must also be applied for in Thailand but a prospective employer in UK must have obtained the WP for her prior to her application.

dont want her to go back to thailand again and not be with her for months again.

Maybe a trip back to Thailand for you is on the cards then while she waits to apply for another visit visa

Exactly! On your wife's first visit she did what she said she would; i.e. stay two months. As a consequence, you found the second application went smoothly.

If, in relation to the second application, she said that she would stay six months then she can't be criticised if she does.
