It looks like the requirements for a residents certificate for drivers license renewal has changed again, does anyone have any recent first hand experience?

I too would like to hear if any recent updates as I have to renew next month.

 

Two years ago when I tried to get residence certificate from Samui Immigration to change ownership of motor scooter, they refused, saying they no longer did them.

 

Tried DMV and Tessaban without success.

I got an agent to do it. Easy.

I had the same problem when I wanted to open another account at SCB. 'Must get COR from immigration'.

'But they do not do any more!'

'Must get COR from immigration'.

So I closed my first account and went back to Krungsri.

Just got back and here is the skinny.

Copy of TM30,

Face page of passport, signed,

Current visa, signed,

They give you the proper form downstairs and the one week wait is still in effect.

No charge.

N.B. If you have renewed your passport since your TM30 issue you need a copy of the visa transfer stamp in your new passport, signed.

No pictures!

I applied for two yesterday (one for car and one for motorcycle), in addition to the above I was asked to get photos copies of three other pages in my passport...so expect a trip to the photocopy shop.
