Asleep At The Wheel

Featured Replies

Coming back from working at a party doing Karaoke a young 24 year old male fell asleep at the wheel. In his pick-up he had a total of eight passengers. It was raining badly and the roads were obviously slippery.

The passenger in the front seat noticed B*** had fallen asleep as he drove over some mountain roads. She shouted at him. Seems he woke and the first thing he did was slam on the brakes. The vehicle spun out of control. 8 people + the driver were injured. Those sat in the back suffered the worst injuries.

Dancers as young as 14 years and the singers have suffered from broken arms, legs and other injuries.

The back end of the vehicle is in a bad way also.

Now the claims are coming in from parents as some of these girls will be unable to work for months. The driver is looking at paying out 500,000 Baht or more in total.

There goes his land and he will be in hock to the bank for a long time to come as he tries to raise the cash.

All because he fell asleep at the wheel. I do ask myself why, oh why, did he not stop and get some sleep before driving back the 100 km or so :o

Always a reminder on any road in any conditions for the need to be alert, drink coffee or stop for a short time to refresh oneself.

Not too bad no one dead, and 500,000bt compo for 8 people I would say he's very lucky, go and buy another good luck charm.
