Featured Replies

Wifey here have bought 50 palm-trees and shall plant them and produce palm-oil in

a couple of years, she says....

Considering that there is so much knowledge here at this forum, I like to

ask you guys who knows, if there is any chance to make any money producing and

selling this Palm-oil????

Very grateful for your input.

Thank you...

Hola, not too many oil palmies on here 🙂

With 50 trees, you might not be able to produce your own oil, as that typically requires a mill. Most likely, you'll be selling your fresh fruit bunches (FFB) instead.

Based on current prices (around 6.5 THB/kg) and the volume your trees will yield, you should make some income, though it might not be a huge amount.

It's also good to keep in mind a few costs like fertilizer, hiring help for weeding (maybe once a month), transportation expenses etc. As some of these expenses will start soon after planting and your trees will only start to yield after 3 to 5 years, it's worth planning for them.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your palm oil venture. 🌴💪

The OP has not said where he is, is his area a Palm Oil area?  if he does decide to sell the fruit, will he have a local market, or will it be a long road trip to sell his crop.

My area is Lopburi ,not a Palm oil growing area, and we do have a few small plantations about, they will have a very long journey to find a market.
