A prisoner, who fled a hospital in Nakhon Si Thammarat last October and was arrested in Indonesia last week is to be returned to Thailand tomorrow.


It’s expected an air force plane would be used instead of a commercial flight to ensure safety, Thailands minister for justice who was visiting Jakarta said the man
Would be charged with escaping  from prison,  assault, possession of illegal firearms and attempted murder. 


Soldiers seized 6 million methamphetamine pills left by smugglers following a brief gunfight in Chiang Dao. Thai soldiers spotted a group of 15 to 20 suspected drug couriers carrying rucksacks. The soldiers signaled the men to stop but were met with gunfire for about 10 minutes, the suspects dropped their bags and fled. The soldiers collected around 30 bags filled with drugs. No soldiers were injured.

 

Six people were arrested for suspected links to two illegal gambling sites tied to a Cambodian criminal organization. The sites, promoting online gambling, handled about 10 million baht monthly. The gang used relatives and friends in Lop Buri, some with political connections, to launder the money. Police found evidence of money transfers between them.
