Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin says that his government would scrap the proposal by the previous administration to charge a 300 baht tourism fee for foreign tourists entering Thailand by air.


The policy proposed last year had encountered opposition from the private sector.he suggested that 
if more tourists are allowed to enter without this fee, they would likely spend on shopping and other activities.

 

The Thai Food and Drug Administration has recalled 15 types of children’s syrup from drug store shelves after finding them to contain inappropriate levels of ethylene glycol. Thailand's FDA has ordered manufacturers to halt and recall all production of the syrups immediately.


Parents of children who develop nausea, vomiting or stomach after consuming any of the 15 products are advised to see a doctor.

 

A former deputy interior minister who fled to Cambodia to avoid a 10-year prison sentence on a charge of corruption 16 years ago, has returned to Thailand after the 15-year statute of limitations expired.


He’s alleged to have been involved with a waste water treatment project that became known as  Thailand’s “mother of corruption” back in the 90’s, the project, cost the taxpayer about 23 billion baht. The facility, is 90% complete, but has never been used.

 

Commuters in bangkok start to see the launch of electric boats operating on its canals from July, the service will be rolled out during the coming months and is designed to connect with  rail, public bus and motorcycle taxi services.

The new electric boat service will be available on demand  via an app which will also calculate the fair.
