Beautiful Thai Village/town Names

Featured Replies

I think that there are some really beautiful village/town names in Thailand;

My nearest town is called ป่าแดง (Paa Daeng) which means Red Forest

I live in ปากรอง (Pak Long/Rong) which means Mouth of the river Rong)

My favorite is a local village called บ้านขอนสองสลึง (Bann kawn Sawng salung) The village where a log costs two salung (old money)

Got any more?

I will probably come back to this thread, because I am also very impressed by the village names here. But they will come to me little by little.

What I remember right away is:

Banh Thong Dokmai - Flower Field (if its not Loei then its Nong Bua Lamphu)

My wife is from Ban Tup Gra Beau, or the village of many buffalo.
