Move Forward MP Advocates for Legalising AVs and Sex Toys

Move Forward MP Taopiphop Limjittrakorn has announced his intention to propose a bill to decriminalise and regulate adult videos (AVs) and sex toys in Thailand, sparking debates across the country.

Taopiphop, representing Bangkok, shared his plans in a Facebook post this morning. The lawmaker is already well-known for advocating the liberalisation of the alcoholic beverage industry. He now aims to challenge Thailand's stringent regulations on AVs and sex toys, specifically targeting Section 287 of the Criminal Code. This section currently enforces a total ban on these items.

The MP's proposal seeks to amend this law to allow controlled access to AVs and sex toys for adults over the age of 20. He insists that this move will not only legalise these products but also establish a framework to regulate their use responsibly.

His bill includes strict measures against the portrayal of simulated or actual sexual violence in AVs, ensuring that the content adheres to ethical standards.

To ensure product safety and quality, Taopiphop proposes empowering the Thai Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) and the Thailand Industrial Standards Institute (TICI) with regulatory oversight.

These bodies would be responsible for issuing the necessary edicts to control the quality of AVs and sex toys available in the market.

Taopiphop acknowledges the controversial nature of his proposal and the significant moral and cultural sentiments surrounding the issue in Thailand.

He appreciates that the bill will likely face staunch opposition and criticism. Nevertheless, he expresses readiness to confront detractors head-on and is prepared to handle any repercussions that arise from his advocacy.

The forthcoming parliamentary debate on this bill is expected to ignite widespread discussion and could mark a significant shift in Thailand's approach to adult entertainment and personal freedom.

I wonder what responsible use of a dildo would entail,

and on the flip side not sure I would want to know what irresponsible use may involve........

THailand has to stop controlling its people... Nothing wrong with sex toys, and AV , surely because on internet you can find videos you want..And many people do it.... So why control everything? make people responsible for their own lives.. This is a good move from MFP to enter the 21st century

Adult videos!!!!!!!! LOL. Millions available. Sex toys etc. is a different matter. Yes, I know it's available but the point is it should be freely available to purchase.  Just more of the ultra conservative religious minority telling adults what they can and cannot do.

Relaxed liberal attitudes to pornography, sex, religion, and family values have made the West what it is today. Whoops. :coffee1:

Dirty  !

I'm glad you mentioned dildo and flip side in different sentences.

Does this include unblocking of certain AV websites that have been blocked since this new government ?

Bringing happiness to the people, not pleasure.

I would add, mercy killings of ownerless domestic animals, aka stray cats and dogs

How super intelligent they are over there.
Here in LOS, you can see any 'adult videos' you want even without a VPN and sex toys you can also get as many as you want.
Yes, yes, I know it's not legal, but still....

finally, a Hub that Thailand can succeed in

I saw dildos on a Stag weekend in Prague once. 2 girls on a pole platform with one in a hand held electric drill. Plus some lubrication!!! 😏😏😏😏😂🤣😂🤣

So we'll have a couple of years with dildo shops opening on every street corner, followed by recriminalization and the economic collapse of millions of new porn entrepreneurs 🥵

Good idea. Long past the time for Thailand to grow up. Additionally, recognize, and legalize, prostitution and give sex workers protection under law. And, do not re-criminalize the beneficial uses of cannabis.

Regulated in a shop with it not visible from outside okay.  I can see this spreading like Marijuana shops all over the place for everyone to see.  I love Thailand and do Not want all the families, friends and children to have the se x toys in view from the sidewalk.

As long as you live in Pattaya or lower Sukhumvit

The porn shops in Amsterdam don't show their products in the window but they do show their prostitutes in the window.

Seems they know what they are doing.

No, when you know the way, they are NOT blocked.

You need to know the right browser, then you can see it all.

Not on my PC here, without a VPN. Come on over to my place.

And what maybe the right browser?

I saw lots of those toys for sale on Sukhumvit. They must be legal. Otherwise, that couldn't happen. 😉

Thailand - the "Porn Hub"?

There are tones of AV sites that are not blocked and can be accessed with any browser without VPN. Many much better than PornHub. They just can't block them all, it's too many of them, and new ones popping up all the time. Not even to mention all the image sites.
