I think the information that was documented in the Tax Guide is about as good as it gets, I don't see that anyone has been able to substantially add to it that albeit a few people have tried successfully to confuse it! I absolutely bet the farm on the receiver of the Gift, not being taxed under the threshold as long as the rules are followed. And I bet the farm and the ranch on the Gifter being taxed, if the gifted funds were assessable and the gift was made from inside Thailand whilst the gifter was tax resident. -

Tariffs as a form of protectionism is a very strange Republican policy. Not exactly free markets. The only justification in my mind is in a particular industry if the supplier - such as China - is assisting their companies and making a non level playing field - allowing them to sell at unrealistic prices - and the American company can't compete - but to put them so broadly based is odd. He keeps saying the seller pays but it is of course the American importer who pays then passes the burden to the consumer. But to be honest I don't think he has such principles even on these or even deeply understands his own policies. Immigration is a crowd pleaser he uses well. I don't think he cares - likes the cheap labour for his hotels and for the wealthy benefactors but sees being tough works so goes with it. -

Help me understand: Delegating devices to remain online when the grid goes down
I have 6.5 Kw Inverter and a 15Kwh battery. I can shut down PEA at the breaker box and my system has no issues. This is while running two ACs and electronics. Most inverters also have a 5-10 second period where they can handle 30-40% more than what they are rated. How many volts is your battery and how many amps can it handle. I have a 48 volt battery and 100 amp output. To get the max watts output you multiple the amps by the volts ( e.g. 48x100= 4800 watts). Have them separate your water heaters(2k-4k watts per heater) and you should be fine. Maybe he is including these into his calculation. Can you take cold showers while the electricity is off? I actually didn't separate them and have had no issues. Haven't had both hot water heaters and both ACs on at the same time while off the grid but you get the point. They should be able to do this in a couple hours. I used a guy that does farm pump solar setups and he had no problem. What is he charging? -

But the epidemic wasn't his doing. The fact she had to deal with it was because whoever actually caused it unleashed it. It certainly wasn't Trump. -

Correct. it is Illegal under USA Law for the USA State Dept to investigate Americans, including financial probing into other agency data (IRS, Social Security, etc. But, if Immigration had evidence anyone was supplying false information in applying for extensions of stay, they could be charged under Thai Law. And, if the foreigner used a falsified affidavit to do this, Immigration (RTP) could refer the case to the FBI office in Bangkok. No such cases were ever reported - in Thai courts, or with the FBI - with regard to "false" income affidavits. This indicates that no such abuses were ever documented by the authorities. In fact, this entire made-up story about "false" affidavits was only hearsay, used to justify a strategic goal - targeting a large group of expats (= potential market for their agents), using a legal-technicality of USA/UK/AU law. This action followed the same pattern seen throughout Big Joke's term as head of Immigration - blow up a story out of whole-cloth or an isolated incident demonizing foreigners, then change policy to suit the story - with the result always leading to more agent-use. -
