Thanks, I actually read through some of those. They all seem to be somewhat dated. Read that the latest Apple software prevents installation. Was hoping someone might have first hand experience with this.

Note:  Needless to say, I would opt for Opensuse Leap 15.6 if I were you....

Yes I have just done this as my old Macbook came to the end of its "Life".

I have been running Linus Mint for the last 3 weeks now and its absolutely brilliant.
