Security Teams On Bts Today

Featured Replies

I noticed allot of extra security on the Sukhumvit BTS line today.

Officers on every train this morning and a couple of K-9 teams.

Must be expecting trouble.

Were the K9 teams professional?

How about the dogs? German Shepherds or Thai breeds?

Be interesting to know whether they're an improvement over the two that got sacked from Suvannabhumi.

Y'know pissing on luggage and humping travellers legs. :o

This could also be part of a training or preparedness activity? In the past I have seen instances where there were many young para(quasi-?)military types (beret, black field uniform with maybe a pinkish insignia at the shoulders, sidearms) on the BTS; both on trains and in the stations. At least two on a train, and one on each platform with some getting off and some getting on at each station. I have not seen similar activity in at least three months. They also checked a lot of Thais for their ID's. At those times it looked like a training program?

If trouble were expected I would think they'd be doing more screening like they do for the MRT (subway)?

Sounds very thai and familiar..

I train and the thais will never have proper working dogs because they all think its for free. I breed and train Mali and Labs for Malaysian authorities and the private sector. In Thailand you ain't making a penny on working dogs. Let em use street dogs or what ever mutts they have and lets wait until there is fatalities..hopefully never but its a reality check.

Few days ago the police and security team stops everyone who is from the MRT Sukumvi accesing the BTS Asoke. Everyone was stop dont kno wwhat was happening because they all inform the people in Thai... Dont know why they cant announce it in English too

HOw strange. The dogs on the BTS are mostly alsachuns. Obviously, your comment about THE THAIS is at least in part wrong.

There are three types of dog in Thailand

Mah Thai

Mah joo

Mah Alsachun

BTW you would not make a penny in Thailand. We use satung.

Saw a German Shepherd and a Black Lab with a couple pair of Soldiers. Each team had a BTS employee escort.

The other cars had a security team. I boarded 5 trains on the Sukhumvit line and saw extra security each time.

Had me worried a bit.

Didn't see any on the Silom trains.

Expecting trouble from the Democracy group?

Most of what I've seen have been Thai dogs, Labs, and a decreasing number of Alsatians.
