ETFs that invest in metals

Featured Replies

Quite a few that invest in gold, silver and even platinum now. Or they invest in gold mining stocks. Good alternative to just buying gold.

No more a statement. Maybe others have used them.

Just buy the metals rather than the miners. Better still trade options on metals futures for more efficient use of capital.

Miners pay dividends though. Might be too late for gold.

Not a bad idea. Make sure that the ETF is covered by physical Gold. Also: How much is the annual "administration/management" fee, because there is also the "carrying charge" incorporated.

If only used "for more efficient use of capital" fine.

But the temptation to enter the "leaverage game" is great. Numerous are the incscriptions on tombstones that read "He died of too much leaverage".

There is a good reason Mining Stocks pay high dividends. The life expectancy of a mine is limited. In the end, nothing but a big empty hole in the ground or a barren underground tunnel will be left.
