terrible advice. just tell everyone to get their own lucky charm. clearly it worked for this lady.

It was a crappy charm. A decent one would have stopped anything falling on her car in the first place.

royal poinciana or flame tree, you find google helps.

I was actually thinking that this was being used as a descriptive word and not the actual type of a tree but thanks.

Maybe authorities could look after the trees, felling the ones that are becoming weak.

i know there is cultural reluctance to fell these holy trees, but that should not come before protecting human life and property.

I remember one in Chiang Mai falling onto a motorcycle narrowly missing killing the rider. There are many of these dangerous holy trees in Thailand not being cared for. The taboo of maintenance again.

I gotta go out and get me one of them, maybe two in case one fails.

Where can I get one. Checked Lazada, but none there.

Not really, if it had worked the tree wouldn't have fallen on her car.

Miraculously, the driver emerged unscathed and credits her survival to a "Luang Pu Thuat" amulet, a revered talisman she always carries with her.

They just can't help it....

Why didn't the amulet stop the tree?

If she had bought an amulet for the tree and an amulet for the car then whole mess would have never happened.  Being cheap is never a good idea.  LOL
