Gaya International Airport in India is preparing for significant changes as it starts international flights from October 10, with Thai Airways setting the pace. The surge in activities is anticipated immediately after Pitru Paksha, a significant event in Hindu traditions.

The flight schedule published by the Gaya Airport Authority shows Thai Airways starting on October 10, followed by Myanmar National Airlines on October 16, Myanmar Airways International on October 30, Bhutan Airlines on November 16, and Drukair on December 2. Myanmar Airways will operate six days a week, while the others will offer two services per week. Thai Airways plans daily flights, ensuring a continuous flow of visitors from Bangkok.

"Most international flights will start in October," stated Gaya Airport Director, Bangjit Saha. He revealed that a total of 16 domestic and international flights will operate from Gaya, beginning on October 10 until March 29, next year.

Per the newly announced schedule, Thai Airways' first flight will arrive in Gaya at 12.40 pm and leave at 1.40 pm. Visitors from various countries, including China, Taiwan, Russia, and Germany, are projected to visit Bodh Gaya, a renowned spiritual destination.

With the airport now connected with more than 18 international destinations and offering daily flights to Delhi and Kolkata via IndiGo, a significant increase in tourism is expected.

Gaya is only a few miles from Bodh Gaya one of the holiest sites in Bhuddism.

It has the "descendant" of the tree under which the Bhudda sat and derived his "wisdom".

Not a Bhuddist myself but very peaceful and well worth a visit
