Authorities in Nam Yuen district have reported a incident on September 12, involving three children who were swept away by floodwaters at a weir in the village of Bu Yung, Nam Yuen, Ubon Ratchathani. Two of the children were rescued, but one, identified as an 11-year-old boy, Tharaphum Kaewmee, was tragically pulled under the water and believed drowned.

The incident occurred at the Huai Fang Daeng spillway (New Kaew Hin Tak Weir) in Tambon Bu Yung. Upon receiving the report from the Bu Yung Subdistrict Administrative Organisation, local rescue services and the Nam Yuen District Office immediately responded.

After being unable to locate the missing youngster on the water, divers from the Jeetumkoh Foundation in Det Udom, and rescue teams from nearby subdistricts were called, along with flat-bottomed boats from the Dome Pradit Subdistrict Administrative Organisation, to assist in the search and recovery efforts.

Officials are continuing to search the area to locate the body..
