Traffic cop scenario-anything wrong with it?
Side street near school, busy, 2way, parking allowed one side only alternating each day. Traffic cop on motorcycle pulls up beside two cars illegally parked, flashing light, walks to first car, stern conversation with driver inside “can’t you see traffic backed up because of you stuff”, driver apologetic, wais etc, takes off. Second car, unoccupied, cop writes a ticket, places on windscreen, pulls out a wheel lock from his bike case, puts it on, on his bike, speeds off. I saw at least two things he did countering what a traffic cop is meant to do. can you think of some? -

Revisiting History: The Unlikely Campaign to Vilify Winston Churchill
I actually EXPLICITY said the British were not carpet bombing, but accidentally killed civilians in Wilhelmshaven. I mention Wilhelmshaven to illustrate that the British bombed Germany first, ie before Germany bombed Britain. 435 civilians did die in Wilhelmshaven due to British bombing raids. -

Best Song of Past 100 Years? Your Vote?
One fact that will always stand is that how many people like a certain song means little of how good it is. A lot of people like to dance, and the beat means more than anything else. Look at Disco. Soulless pap for the most part but some of the best music to dance to because of that beat. The same with most pop music now. It attracts for the most part pre-teens and teens. They like the shows they put on, but it doesn't come near matching the musicianship of most progressive rock bands. There are many excellent bands worldwide that most will never hear because of the money involved, and the shows. -

Bangkok Governor leads footpath renovation project on Lat Phrao Road
Governor Chadchart leads footpath renovation project on Lat Phrao Road Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt is overseeing a 20-kilometre renovation of Lat Phrao Road's deteriorating footpaths, which have suffered years of neglect due to construction projects like the Yellow Line MRT and underground power line installations. The governor aims to create safer, more accessible sidewalks using Universal Design principles. While the project causes temporary disruption, Chadchart assures residents the improvements, expected by early 2025, will enhance the city's walkability. He emphasised the need for careful construction management and safety measures to minimise public inconvenience during the overhaul. -

Woman Found Dead After Falling from Luxury Condo in Sutthisan
Picture courtesy of Khoasod, showing the CCTV image of the victim before the fall. An incident occurred on the morning of September 20, when a young woman was found dead after falling from a luxury condominium in the Sutthisan area. The 27-year-old, identified as Ms. Yothaka (last name withheld), was discovered naked and severely injured, her body shattered by the impact. At around 07:00 Police Captain Chawarit Chan-koen, an investigator from Sutthisan Police Station, was alerted to the fatal fall. Medical examiners from Ramathibodi Hospital, forensic officers, and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers responded to the scene. The incident took place at Tower A of a 43-story high-rise in Huai Khwang, Bangkok. The body was found on the 6th floor, in a landscaped area, where it had landed after the fall. Ms. Yothaka was found in a disfigured position, with multiple fractures, torn flesh, and a fractured skull. Authorities believe she fell from a higher floor. Security footage from the building revealed that before the fall, the victim was seen leaving her apartment and heading to the 43rd floor, which houses the building's helicopter landing pad. It is presumed she fell from there, with her body striking the 6th-floor ledge. The victim’s sister arrived at the scene and, after reviewing the security footage, expressed no suspicion regarding her sister's death. Investigators have sent the body to Ramathibodi Hospital’s forensic department for an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death. Authorities are also continuing to interview the family and others to better understand the circumstances leading to the tragedy. -- 2024-09-20 Apologies, ASEAN NOW is not currently accepting comments on this topic //CLOSED// -

New Bangkok street vending rules limit stalls to low-income Thais
New Bangkok street vending rules limit stalls to low-income Thais Bangkok’s new regulations restrict street vending to low-income Thais, excluding migrant workers from the sector. To qualify, vendors must hold government welfare cards, be repaying National Housing Authority properties, and earn less than 300,000 baht annually after expenses. The rules aim to support low-income citizens and improve public spaces, requiring vendors to maintain clear pedestrian walkways and adhere to public health standards. Stalls are limited in size and must follow safety guidelines. While some applaud the move, others criticize it, raising concerns about the future of Bangkok’s street vending culture. -

Watching videos on a LG TV – from my home computer
Well, first of all CX File Explorer is a free app. It works by locating your laptops on the network. So you just open the app, the only set up required is to choose your laptop, type in the username and password you urse, and that's it. After you did that once, you just open the CX File Explorer App, choose that network link and you're straight into your laptop's storage. CX File Explorer even has a built in video player but if you don't want to use it you can pair it with VLC or any other video player of your choice. It's incredibly reliable and free. I was concerned at first because it uses WIFI not ethernet, but I have 2000 Mbps internet, so even with the Android box I get 500 Mbps, not an issue at all. -

Why the exaggerating? Quick Start This quick-start is the fastest way to set up and start using your very own Plex Media Server. Should you need more detailed instructions, the links provided should help! Setting Up and Installing the Plex Media Server Download and run the installer for Plex Media Server. Tip!: It’s important to understand that Plex Media Server does not have its own graphical user interface. When you run the server on your computer, NAS, or other device, you won’t see a window open with a “server UI” or similar. Instead, you use our web app to manage your server. Using Plex for the First Time The very first time the server runs, it should launch a browser to sign you in (or create a new account) and start the Setup Wizard. Completing the Plex Media Server Setup The short Setup Wizard will help you configure your server and account. It will also help you create and add media to your libraries. There is often some preparation of files needed, but you can set up a test library now and rebuild it at any time. Installing Plex Apps Once the server is running, you can download and install apps for any of your devices. Exploring Plex After your devices are connected, there is plenty of other functionality to explore! -
