The body of 24-year-old Mr. Chaiwan, who went missing after falling into the Nam Lang River near a weir in Ban Rai, Sop Pong Subdistrict, Pang Mapha District, Mae Hong Son, was recovered on September 24, after a six-day search operation.

The search resumed at 08:30 in the morning, with teams divided to explore the area from the weir downstream along the Nam Lang River, extending to the Rukud Nam Lang section. At 12:30 a team member spotted what appeared to be a body caught on the riverbank across from their path. Officials deployed a rubber boat to cross the river and confirm the discovery. Tragically, it was determined to be the body of the missing man, Mr. Chaiwan.

At 14.00 the body was removed from the scene, and authorities conducted an official examination. According to the police, there were no signs of foul play, and Mr. Chaiwan’s wife has stated that she does not question the cause of death, so the body was transported to Ban Rai temple for cremation.

Authorities expressed their gratitude to the search teams, including Mr. Weeraphong Rattanasri, Pang Mapha District Chief, district security officials, Village Headman and residents of Ban Rai, the local rescue units, divers from the Pai Samakkhi Rescue Team, the Provincial Disaster Relief Team, and officers from various local and provincial agencies.
