In a coordinated effort, 20 stranded tourists were successfully rescued today after a landslide blocked the Chiang Dao-Mueang Khong road in Chiang Mai province.

Mr. Kritphon Rachatmethanon, the Chiang Dao District Chief, led the operation, working alongside local authorities and emergency teams to clear the debris. With the support of heavy machinery from the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization, they were able to restore 6 kilometers of the road, clearing five major landslide points. This allowed the tourists, who had been trapped in the area, to return home safely.

Efforts will continue tomorrow, with teams focusing on an additional five landslide-affected sections covering approximately 2 kilometers, aiming to fully reopen the route to Mueang Khong Subdistrict.

Thanks to the quick and effective response, no injuries were reported, and the situation was brought under control swiftly.
