PAYWALLS: Is net effect of paywalling totally negative for everyone? (Ex. Business Insider)
Dear Readers, Does it seem increasingly clear to you that paywalling is bad for everyone? For example, I recently found a link to Business Insider and clicked on it, only to find this garbage: And so what was the net effect of this stupidity? a. I did not read the article. Anyway, probably an asinine and best-forgotten article, in the first place, and so I did not miss a thing. b. Business Insider lost a reader, me, because I will not click on BI articles again. c. Business Insider made no Baht, either. =============== And, what do smart people (academics) say about paywalling? a. For one thing, this practice limits free exchange of information, something which is apparent to even a child in elementary school, one child that might benefit from further reading. b. And then, you have academic thinkers who say this about paywalling... You can do what you like and just PAY-UP on Paywall sites. But I NEVER again will make such a foolish choice. A few years ago, I paid for the NYT, but then, I got scammed when they suddenly began charging me more, without asking my permission. What? They think it's so very easy to scam me, an American, and a college grad, and one who read the paper-printed version of the NYT beginning in high school, when a subscription was required for us students? I will not pay. I hope that you will not pay. Who do these publishing houses and scammers think they are? Anyway? Sometimes I feel ..... What are the words? I dunno.... PO'd? Yeah. Pissedoff. That's how I feel. What about you? Regards, Gamma -

Trump Works at McDonald’s claims Kamala Harris 'never has
What, you mean that Trump hasn't really started working at a McDonalds and it was just a political stunt? By a politician? Are leftists so low IQ that they are shocked that Trump isn't really going to be working at a McDonalds and it was just a publicity gimmick? Crikey. -

Hit and run got me, I'm all broken!
IMO if the police here started locking up offender's scooters for a few weeks, road behaviors would improve very rapidly, as the word got around. Fines here are laughable. I was fined 500 baht for speeding some years ago, a speed camera that was actually working. The same offence in Australia would have cost me 17,000 baht, with 3 demerit points on my licence. -

"I read it somewhere"
Trump on Fox News when asked about cat's and dog's. Still saying it's true because he "read it somewhere" Hey Donald ! I read earth is flat. And his cultists see nothing wrong the dumbness of their dear leader. If Trump had not gotten his hands on daddy's money he'd be on the streets of New York scamming tourists or selling fake watches. O, wait...- 1

Cold buses?
I have made many interprovincial bus journeys between Lanna, Isaan and Bangkok. From my experience day time services were no problem and quite comfortable, but it was the night services that were always cold. These buses are not fitted with heaters (for obvious reasons in a tropical climate) but do have air conditioning units. More often than not, these units are left on at night producing the cold air. I once asked for the air conditioning to be turned off and the reply was "it is on for the comfort of other passengers"!! Fortunately on all the night journeys I travelled, a blanket and pillow were supplied but their use was slightly restricted as I always kept my seat belt fastened.
