California doctor claims spicy Thai dish left her with chemical burns

A massive fire broke out early morning October 25, at a warehouse complex in Ban Ko, Samut Sakhon, causing extensive damage to four storage facilities and resulting in losses worth millions of baht. The fire started around 06:00 and authorities dispatched over multiple fire trucks from nearby municipalities to combat the blaze.

 

The fire engulfed four warehouses that were rented out for storage, with firefighters battling the flames for approximately two hours before gaining control. Thick black smoke and bright flames were visible from a distance as the fire raged through the buildings.

 

Initial investigations revealed that the warehouses stored a variety of goods, including plastic products, food items, and raw materials. The fire reportedly started in the innermost warehouse, which belonged to a hardware company, and quickly spread to neighbouring storage units. One of the warehouses contained boxes and rolls of plastic, valued at over 10 million baht, all of which were destroyed.

 

Local authorities, led by Mr. Chatree Pho-ob, Mayor of Bang Pla, worked alongside district officials and provincial disaster prevention teams to manage the situation. The fire destroyed a large portion of the 70-rai area site, which housed the rented storage facilities. Firefighters successfully contained the fire but are monitoring the site for potential flare-ups. Precautionary measures are in place, including cordoning off hazardous areas where parts of the buildings have collapsed.

 

Police, along with forensic investigators, are now working to determine the exact cause of the fire, while engineers from the local government are set to inspect the structural damage.
