I recently checked my US voter registration and found that I was suspended. So I flew from Thailand to the US to fix my registration and request an absentee ballot to be sent to Thailand.

 

The registration was fixed, but I never got the absentee ballot.

 

So, I will be flying to the US to vote on Election Day. Wish me luck.

If Trump loses by one vote, you will know who to blame.

A close loss would not be good enough considering just how horrible a candidate he is.  They could not pick a worse more unqualified candidate.

You are the man we all feel the threat trump represents there are many republicans voting early……female republicans that is……im feeling better every day about the outcome.Im in the states on purpose just to be here when it’s called my path was easy by mail it’s been received and accepted.

you could have done the whole registration process on the internet, so two trips to the US for nothing, must be nice to have money to piss into the wind, but you are so worried that you might have to pay taxes in Thailand.

It's all about turnout.  When voter turnout is high dems win which is why republicans are always trying so hard to suppress that.  Romney was not nearly as horrible as the convicted felon fraudster and Obama spanked him hard.

I liked Romney but I liked Obama more especially after the housing bubble and the irresponsible business practices that brought it about.kinda soured me about the business types.

Impossible.

 

In my state, none of that can be done online. And apparently absentee ballot requests don't work.

My absentee ballot never arrived, so I will be voting provisionally on Election Day.

 

I will double check to see if they screwed up and sent it to my registered address in the US.

 

Because I bought last minute tickets, I have some long layovers. The outbound flight has Thai Airways for the first leg to Hong Kong, and Thai is often late, so a long layover in Hong Kong is probably a good idea.

 

Coming back, I have a 16 hour flight to Hong Kong, followed by a 5 hour layover before flying to BKK. No fun.

 

As long as Trump loses, it will be bearable.

No matter what the outcome, big respect to you. Most people wouldn't go to that effort/trouble and/or expense just to perform their civic duty. Many in America who can do it very conveniently won't even be voting. So the fact that you will make this sacrifice to contribute your part should be commended. I am very much hoping Harris wins too, but in this instance it's your show of support for democracy and the rule of law that is to be most commended. So no matter what the outcome, you can feel proud of your contribution. I also believe others reading your post will agree too, even though many won't come out to openly express themselves. ✌🏼

Yep, it's a long flight.

 

As usual, Thai Airways was late, and I made my connection with few minutes to spare.

I made it to the USA. 

 

Now there is big rain, but once that stops, I am off to vote.

 

And then some shopping at Walmart.

Major cred. to you. that is a heck of a commitment to democracy - it's not who you voted for its the fact that you refused to accept a situation where your vote would not be counted. interesting social situation in my smallish village. how to soclailize with my maga friends, after T. loses. why am I confident of this outcome? there has been an air of desperation about Trump's campaign - he ignore his handlers, relying on his ego. he comes over as old and as confused as Biden. (and that's being kind). Karris is young and articulate. I am expecting a big 'swell' of older women who will not accept the nonsense that he & Vance put out. p

Trump's people are always panicking, it doesn't mean anything. They were all surprised when he won in 2016.

The race in Texas between Allred and Cruz is very close.
