Hello Everyone,

What do I need to file for the non o family visa for a spouse to e file it? Do I need to already have my plane ticket bought before I apply for the visa electronically?

Thank you

You seem to be asking about eVisa non O (Thai wife)

Why apply for  visa without flight to Thailand.

Passport country?

Where currently located?

If you already have Thai bank account in your name only you could consider visa exempt entry and obtain non O marriage at local immigration.

Yes I'm referring to the Thai wife non o visa. I'm from the United States.

I'm worried about the Visa being denied and would waste money on a plane ticket. If I need one before I apply I will get the plane ticket before applying. How soon before I intend to arrive in Thailand should I apply for the e-visa?

Even if that occurred then fly visa exempt and obtain the non O at immigration.

Are you planning on ongoing stay I'm Thailand?

Meaning  12 month extension

Yes I'm planning on staying in Thailand for the 12 month extension. I'm moving there to be with my wife.

Assuming you are intending to apply in the US the requirements are very clear on the Embassy website.  No travel tickets are mentioned.  Note that it is always possible they might ask for it later during the application, they did for me in the UK, but I did have a ticket (why would you apply for the visa if not intending to travel?)

Required documents to upload in the system (Large and clear JPEG or PDF format) to stay with Thai family residing in Thailand (more than 60 days):

  1. Passport Biodata Page or Travel Document (Must be valid within 6 months from travel date)
  2. Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months
  3. Document indicating current location (driving license, bank statement, or proof of stay)
  4. Recent bank statement showing the applicant's name and ending balance of no less than $15,000 or proof of monthly income of not less than $1,500/month) along with the current bank statement showing incoming income
  5. Personal details of a family in Thailand, e.g. valid Thai ID card or Thai Passport
  6. Proof of relationship to a family in Thailand (immediate family only), e.g. A copy of marriage certificate / birth certificate / certificate of adoption

In that case your plan of obtaining eVisa in the states is best plan.

With the non O you should be able to open a Thai bank account in your name only.

This is the very first thing you should attend to after arrival..
