I have a fairly old smart LG TV.

It's not UHD or 4K.

Some of the channels have started to flicker, but not all. I use True.

What could be the problem?

Could it be that I need a new HDMI cable? I looked in BIG C & they only have 4K HDMI cables. Would a 4K HDMI cable still be okay for me to try? Failing that, I guess a visit from a True technician to check the signal/router etc.

Anyone had the same problem? Thanks.

For standard definition TV a 4K HDMI cable is overkill, but it will definitely work.  You probably don't need a new HDMI cable.

If the same group channels are the only ones giving you trouble, it is most likely due to your TV box getting a poor quality input signal from True.  Your first step should be to call True for service.

This would tend to rule out a defective TV screen and / or other hardware.

HDMI cables are backward compatible.

Have you moved any other hardware around the TV or box?  If so, the box and / or cable could be getting some interference.

I agree with the other member.  If no interference, it appears to be a problem with True.

Yeah, thanks for the reply. I believe it's a poor signal too. I'll be visiting True soon.

Trying to report a problem online is a waste of time.
