A woman with 12 arrest warrants, primarily for embezzlement and fraud, was apprehended by police after a chase through a wooded area in Roi Et province, Thailand. Despite the charges, she continues to deny any wrongdoing.

Police officers, under the direction of Montri Tetsan, ordered the arrest of 41 year old Jirachaya, in response to a warrant issued by Khon Kaen Provincial Court on December 27, 2023. The charges include embezzlement and illegal money lending at interest rates exceeding legal limits. Jirachaya was captured behind a school in the small town of Moei Wadi, Roi Et.

Back in November, victims of Jirachaya’s alleged scams sought assistance from the Crime Suppression Division, urging them to arrest her. Despite being pursued for more than 10 warrants related to embezzlement and document forgery, Jirachaya eluded capture for a prolonged period.

In 2023, Jirachaya was reportedly involved with a group of brokers, deceiving individuals into pawning their trucks. She collected 300,000 baht (US$8,820) from a victim at a petrol station in Khon Kaen in exchange for vehicle keys, earning a 4,000 baht (US$117) commission. When the victim later sought to reclaim their vehicle, Jirachaya was unable to return it, leading to legal action against her.

A thorough investigation of her background revealed that Jirachaya had 12 active warrants, all related to repeated embezzlement and document forgery cases. Her actions made her a high-priority target for law enforcement, yet she successfully evaded arrest by constantly changing her location, a strategy she maintained since 2019.

Police recently received information about Jirachaya’s whereabouts in Moei Wadi, Roi Et. When she spotted the police, she fled into a nearby thicket, managing to cover nearly half a kilometre before being apprehended. Upon capture, she consistently denied all accusations, reported KhaoSod.

Despite her claims, she was transported to Khon Kaen Provincial Court to face legal proceedings.
