Crackdown on Sukhumvit Beggars Reveals Hidden Wealth

In an effort to improve the image of Thailand, police, alongside officials from the Immigration Bureau and the Homeless People Protection Centre, conducted a crackdown in Bangkok's Sukhumvit area, rounding up 12 beggars.

The Thai-Myanmar Border Coordination Center (TBC Thailand) was notified by the Myanmar-Thai Border Coordination Center (TBC Koh Sone, Myanmar) of a fire aboard a large cargo vessel on the Kyaung River, near the town of Koh Sone, Myanmar. The ship was carrying construction materials such as paints and other goods, and the blaze quickly intensified.

A Hong Kong master’s student was swept into an international scam that cost her over HK$500,000 (approximately 2.2 million baht) and led her to an alarming detour to Thailand. This unprecedented case pushed Hong Kong police to seek Interpol’s help, marking the first time a victim was lured overseas.
