Delivery Rider Killed in Road Rage Incident Involving Indian Driver on Sukhumvit Road

Bangkok, Sukhumvit Road on January 21, at approximately 12:00, Lieutenant Jarint Rattanasuwanachai, Deputy Inspector of Lumpini Police Station, and rescue volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation responded to a fatal road incident on Sukhumvit Soi 10. At the scene, officers found the body of a delivery rider, Mr. Ritthisak, wearing a pink long-sleeved shirt and jeans. The rider had been struck by a car, with the force of the collision throwing the victim into a CCTV pole, leaving the body severely twisted on the floor. Nearby, the victim’s electric motorcycle lay in a mangled state. Eyewitness accounts provided by Mr. Kittipoom, 48, another delivery rider, revealed that the incident stemmed from a heated argument between the deceased and the driver, reported of Indian heritage, of a white Toyota Altis. The two vehicles had been stopped in the right-hand lane, reportedly following a minor collision. The argument escalated when the car driver attempted to flee the scene, but the rider stood in front of the car to block its path. According to Mr. Kittipoom, the rider struck the car in frustration, prompting the driver to exit the vehicle and assault the rider. The rider then got on his electric motorcycle and tried to flee, but the car pursued him, ultimately ramming into him with such force it flung the rider into a utility pole, resulting in his death. The victim’s wife spoke to reporters, expressing her devastation at the loss of her husband, the family’s sole breadwinner. She revealed that they had been married for over 24 years and had four children, with the eldest recently finishing high school and preparing for university. Her husband had been working tirelessly to cover household expenses and school fees. She also condemned the driver’s actions, questioning how someone could commit such a callous act without considering the consequences for the victim’s family. She vowed to seek justice and hold the driver accountable for her husband’s death. Following the incident, the Toyota Altis, with license plate number from Bangkok, fled the scene. Police apprehended the driver in Soi Sukhumvit 4 and brought them to Lumpini Police Station for questioning. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances leading to the incident. Police later identified the driver as Mr. Seri, 31 years old, the son of the owner of a cloth shop in Soi Sukhumvit 7/1. Initially, the police charged the suspect with intentional homicide and reckless driving causing the death of another person. Effectively his regime lasted 10 years until Germany was completely destroyed. Most dictatorships like that end in total collapse - the next problem is what replaces them - Germany, Italy and Japan mangaed to be reborn - with the help of an internationally open America - no idea who will save the US. -

The incident began around 4 PM when Marina R., reportedly affected by alcohol or other substances, attempted to enter a local home on Nai Yang 16/1. Police were alerted and arrived to escort her for her safety. However, the situation escalated when she grabbed a kitchen knife from a nearby restaurant and started threatening officers and passersby with the weapon. Despite mediation attempts by a Russian-speaking local, her behaviour worsened as she turned the knife on herself, pressing it to her stomach in a self-harm attempt. It was at this critical juncture that police, trained in non-lethal tactics, decided to use rubber bullets. Accurately targeting her hand, they forced her to drop the knife, preventing further harm. Once disarmed, Marina R. was transported to Thalang Hospital to receive medical attention. Colonel Salan Santisasanakul of Sakhu Police Station commended his officers for their professional handling of the situation, highlighting the effectiveness of their training in ensuring public safety without causing serious injury. Further investigations revealed Marina R. was scheduled to return to Russia on January 27, 2025. Her attendance at the EDC Thailand festival may have contributed to her unsettled state, although specifics remain under review. This incident has drawn attention to the impact of large festivals and the challenges they pose to local law enforcement.
