Losing a passport with a Sticker Visa now that everything is E-Visa

Featured Replies

I was issued a DTV Sticker visa in my passport before all embassies switched to E-Visa's.

If my passport was lost or damaged and contains my sticker Visa would I be able to request the same visa to be issued as an E-Visa? how would I be able to replace it otherwise?

OP, you ask very valid question.

Has been asked few times in the main regarding new passport.

DTV is a "special class of tourist visa" whatever that means.

My advice is a guess not definitive.

The analogy is regarding eg Non O sticker visa.

When pp is obtained the Visa (sticker) is not transferred but rather details of that Visa will be entered into new pp..

If you have any business with immigration could you please seek clarification are report info to forum.

Perhaps someone has been through the process and can advise..

First the op is asking about losing a passport and then getting a new one, so would be impossible to enter the details of a visa in a lost passport to a new passport at immigration.

Secondly, I believe that if you lose a visa sticker, a trip to the MFA is required to 'reinstate' the lost visa, as Immigration had nothing to do with its issuance.

The OP is asking hypothetical question. He stated...

"IF my passport was lost or damaged ....

As suggested ...best to ask immigration office next time he attends for some reason
