  • No outrage among Thai residents.  I've lived here 20 years and see Thais urinating on the verge of (busy) roads every single day.

  • What do you expect.....where are the public toilets?

  • There are public toilets in India. Thailand is very happy to receive tourists, but fails to reinvest in tourist infrastructure. And if you have to go, you have to go.

Even more surprising is when they do this, despite there being a gas (petrol) station with clean and free to use toilets just 500m or 1km down the road.

Back to the situation here....no gas stations on Beach Rd these days. It's The Mall if it is still open, or the Beach!

Yes, I have the diabetes and an enlarged prostate. Malls, PTT, coffee shops. Keep the eyes peeled. The car has am empty water bottle for emergencies.

If no car, the options are fewer.

Not to mention that we all see Thai men doing this right across the country - where's the outrage there?

I thought Pattaya is a public toilet.

I'm not sure there ever were any on beach road, but within 2-3km you'll find plenty of gas stations.

Who wants to walk 2-3 km busting to pee when there is a polluted sea for 5 km! Nor would I say there are plenty of gas stations nearby...  most are on Sukhumvit or pretty close to it. And you expect first time visitors to know this! Don't ever recall any on Beach Rd... used to be one near the Marina Mall on Second... I think it went years  ago.
