He looks old: But, his mind is still super sharp...

Hi Folks,

This seems to be one of the best interviews that I have ever seen from this YouTube producer, which is saying a lot.

This is most definitely worth a watch.....AND.....a THINK....too.

What do you think?

So much to think about.

And, thanks to this old guy for stating the truth, in such a well-spoken way.

It is rare to find a Farang, much less an OLD Farng, so well-spoken....I guess.....

(especially on TV)

Watch and enjoy, since.....

I am sure that you will.

Best regards,

Gamma

Note: This interview, for once, is really quite SOLID.....IMHO.....

Don't be too jealous that his mind is sharper than yours.

He is also much younger than you.

No comparison.

Apples and bowling balls.

His mind is sharp, but he looks older than 71.

I bet there are some stories of disappointment he did not mention in this interview.

I took a few notes:

From what I gather his social security is $2400 USD per month. He spends 5,500b on house rental but says in total he spends USD 1200 per month. On what?

He keeps saying he would not be able to retire back in the USD. Another delusional foreigner who watches YouTube clickbaits and thinks only Thailand survived covid.

By his admission he saves half of his income. He also mentioned he has extra 1 million baht in emergency US account. So, he could retire just fine in places like Springfield, IL and his little house would look so much better than that ugly uncomfortable Thai ghetto house he lives in. He would also get free healthcare.

Sad how foreigners in Thailand are being brainwashed that living anywhere else is expensive.

Peaches and lemons, actually.

No comparison:

Who is the lemon?

I mean: He is younger. But I don't look so old, in real life.

How much do you think it costs to heat a house like that in Illinois?

Do you even know how cold it gets there?

Maybe coal?

The house is small as a mouse.

But, it takes more energy to keep an elephant warm than a mouse.

Do you know anything about surface area, volume, and heat dissipation, for example?

Yep. That little house comes fully equipped with its own coal burning furnace. A local quarry will deliver a tri axle full for you to shovel in all winter long.

Sorry for my typo.

Actually, it requires less energy to keep an elephant warm, compared to a mouse.

Just judge by heartbeats per minute, for example.

Lovely, honest old guy. Much better being middle-income in Thailand, possibly even high-income in the sticks, than low-income in the States.

And he's clear-headed. One wishes him well.

There are plenty of tier 2 and tier 3 cities in the States to live comfortably and relatively cheaply.

Most are in the Midwest. Many are in the South.

Heck, even Chicago is affordable compared to the West Coast, the PNW and the East Coast.

Chicago. A fine, fine city. Deep dish pizza. Wrigley Field. Willis Tower. One of America's greats, all ways.

Wrong. On that income his quality of life would be so low in America unless he already had the good fortune of owning a house free and clear. Buying or renting would be completely out of the picture for him.

American inflation is so out of control it takes a considerably higher income to live there comfortably. He made a very wise choice by retiring in Thailand.

Yep, if he lived closer, I wud definitiely drop by for a conversation.

Yeah, seems a lot of Youtubers are exaggerating for clickbait or twisting reality.

I didn't watch the video and crunch the guy's numbers .... but most people can find ways to move back. Sounds like fear-mongering.

Who the hell would go back? I mean, what for?

Gamma will still be posting when he finds that Chinese bride!

Also, Chicago is famous for its balmy winters.
