1) I am not particularly anti - American, although I admittedly dislike Trump and his regime ( rather like a lot of Americans). That dislike has been reinforced by his demands for other countries to allow themselves to be subsumed into the US.

 

I very much doubt that any regime put in place in Greenland would be remotely as benign as the one you describe applies to Alaska!

There would not be any fighting to speak of. Like in WWII Denmark would roll over with minimal resist ance, they surrendered in less than 6 hours then to the Germans. Against the US military the Danes would most likely not even put up any fight.

 

The US already has a military base in Greenland, it just needs to enlarge its presence. There is nothing anyone could do to stop it.

 

You seriously believing that Britain or France would fire missiles into the White House and thereby risk the total destruction of their countries to aid Denmark shows your brain is terminally divorced from reality. What did Britain and France do in the Ukraine war? Go in blazing on the Kremlin did they?  No, they understood, as indeed did the US, that it is prudent not to risk your own nuclear destruction.

Free college education

Guaranteed jobs

A big city

Racism in their favour as to hunting, whaling, etc.

Political power

The ability to live their lives as THEY chose without state interference.

The ability to influence NATIONAL politics beyond their numbers.

 

What have the Danes done for Greenland? Start a Sovereign Wealth fund? Infrastructure? Resource development.? Do they even have an International Airport near a capital city with modern hospital? A deepwater port?

 

Greenland is what Alaska was in 1941. 

 

I bet the Greenlanders would overwhelmingly vote to be a US state.

Whatever the Greenlanders decide. Recently, they declined extraction of minerals for billions of dollars due to environment issues. I am not sure the Greenlanders would have that option under president Trump.

If Greenland is a state it is governed by their own environmental laws, like Alaska, as well as US law. Trump has nothing to do with it.

 

Dude that $1700 is just interest on a bank account. Per person. Not infrastructure, welfare, hospitals, medical or amenities, thats government, this is just plain hard cash. There is no such thing in Greenland.
